Welcome to Culture Snap Photography,
Culture Snap offers vibrant images from the roads of Toronto to rural Tanzania as taken by me - Toronto documentary photographer Henry VanderSpek.

Thanks to all who stopped by my table at the Hospital for Sick Kids' annual Holiday Market last week. I enjoyed meeting you! To see more of my art photography please click here.

This Sunday, December 10th, I will be participating in the Leslieville Flea's Holiday Market. This is my first time in The Leslieville Flea  - known for vendors who offer "vintage, salvaged, up-cycled goods, furniture, antiques, collectibles and handcrafted goods." It runs from 10 AM - 5 PM and is at the S.H Armstrong Community Centre at 56 Woodfield Rd. I will be selling photo art pillows, wood block and matted prints as well as custom greeting cards. There are always lots of great artists present, so drop by if you are in the area!

2017 isn't over yet, but here are some of my highlights so far:

- February: Participating in the InFocus Photo 2017 Exhibit in The Front Gallery in Edmonton, AB, Canada

- May: Showed my Taxi Drivers of Toronto series in the 2017 Contact Photo Festival at the Daniels Spectrum building in Regent Park. CBC Toronto, CBC Radio, the Beach Metro and Now Toronto all covered the exhibit, with Now Toronto including me in their "must-sees" of the festival.

- July: Showed Taxi Drivers of Toronto in the Toronto's Northern District Library

- August: Captured photos of the Yorkville neighbourhood for their official website (images may be seen here and here), documented a citizenship ceremony for the Institute of Canadian Citizenship, and took portraits of the subjects of the Big Men, Small Dogs documentary film.

- September: Participated in the Danforth East Community Arts Fair (DECAF) for my sixth year in a row (and had a great time doing so!) I also visited Mexico City for 6 days (photos to come in a future blog post).

If you are looking for someone to show the best of your special event, reveal your organizational mission in images and words, or document your non-profit work in Canada or overseas, look no further. I have over eight years of experience capturing digital images, and many more shooting with film. You are welcome to read my bio, my latest blog post, words from recent clients, and/or view a selection of my published images. After doing so, send me an email and I'd be happy to discuss possibilities.

If you are looking for unique photo art - for your home, office or as a meaningful gift, please visit my art images. I am available to help you find the perfect item. I am thrilled to now have my photo art pillow covers available on Etsy as well! I invite you to have a look!
Warm regards,
Henry VanderSpek
