Welcome to Culture Snap Photography,
Culture Snap offers vibrant images from the roads of Toronto to rural Tanzania as taken by me - Toronto documentary photographer Henry VanderSpek.

I am looking forward to all that 2017 has in store. Each year brings unique opportunities and moments and I'm sure that this year will be no different. Please click here to see some of my favourite photo moments of 2016.

My thanks to Alexis Marie Chute and The Front Gallery in Edmonton, Alberta for exhibiting two of my images as part of InFocus Photo 2017. It was an honour to participate in a show featuring emerging themes in Canadian photography.

For the past few years I have been documenting Toronto taxi drivers through portraits and in brief interviews. I am excited to share that this project - "Taxi Drivers of Toronto" - will be featured in the Contact Photo Festival in May 2017. You are invited to attend the opening event on May 2nd from 6:00 - 10:00 PM at the Daniels Spectrum building in Regent Park. My "Taxi Drivers of Toronto" exhibit was also selected by the Toronto Library Arts Program and will be exhibited at Northern District Public Library (near Yonge & Eglinton) in July 2017. To see an overview of this project have a look at my recent blog post

If you are looking for someone to show the best of your special event, reveal your organizational mission in images and words, or document your non-profit work in Canada or overseas, look no further. I have over eight years of experience capturing digital images, and many more shooting with film. You are welcome to read my bio, words from recent clients, and/or view a selection of my published images. After doing so, send me an email and I'd be happy to discuss possibilities.

If you are looking for unique photo art - for your home, office or as a meaningful gift, please visit my art images. I am available to help you find the perfect item. I am thrilled to now have my photo art pillow covers available on Etsy as well! I invite you to have a look!

Warm regards,
Henry VanderSpek
